When and where is the DDS PossABLE Statewide Training?

The DDS Statewide Training is 8 AM – 5 PM on April 23-24 at the Oklahoma City Convention Center in downtown OKC. Sessions will take place on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors.

Visit their website here  for more information about the venue.

What can I expect from the DDS Statewide Training?

The DDS Statewide Training is an in-person learning experience intended to inform, equip, connect, and inspire your team. The event will bring together DDS Staff and community providers from across the state to take part in role-specific training, understand each other’s impact, and engage in meaningful networking opportunities.

What does it cost to attend?

Registration for the 2024 DDS Statewide Training is 100% covered by the Oklahoma Human Services Developmental Disabilities Services (OKDHS-DDS) division so that you may attend with no cost to you.

Is it mandatory for me to attend the DDS Statewide Training?

Attendance is mandatory for all DDS Staff. Any exceptions must be approved by your direct supervisor.

For the community-based provider network, OKDHS-DDS is pleased to offer this training as an optional—but highly encouraged!—way to foster collaboration between organizations. The more of us that come together, the stronger we will be!

Where can I find information about my hotel accommodations?

If you qualify for a hotel room and indicated during registration that you need one, a room will be assigned to you. Confirmation emails with your hotel details, including check-in instructions, will be sent to you by email closer to the event date.

Please fill out our contact form with any additional questions about your hotel stay.

I’m part of a Provider Organization. How many hotel rooms do we receive, and how are they assigned?

Community-Based Providers who request hotel accommodations during registration will be considered for the rooms we have available on April 22 and 23. To fairly meet demand, they are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. You’ll be notified of your accommodation status by mid-March.

What should I do about hotel incidentals?

When staying at your hotel, you’ll need to provide a credit or debit card at check-in for incidental charges—expenses like room service, minibar, or even damages to the room. Hotels place a temporary hold on a portion of your card’s balance to cover these potential costs. The hold amount varies by hotel and is released after your stay if no incidental charges are incurred. Once hotel assignments are made, we will inform you of the specific incidental charges expected at your assigned hotel to avoid any inconvenience or surprises.

Where can I park at the hotel, and will I be reimbursed?

Details on hotel parking specifics will be provided before the event when hotel assignments are communicated.

Staff are required to pay for parking fees upfront and retain their receipts. For reimbursement, submit these receipts to your supervisor following the same process as other expense reimbursements.

Where can I park at the event, and will I be reimbursed?

For event parking at the OKC Convention Center (OKCCC), there are two main options:

  • Parking Garage: Located northeast of the OKCCC at Shields and Mick Cornett Drive. Access the entrance on Broadway & Mick Cornett. Once parked, you can reach the 2nd floor of OKCCC using the skybridge on the 3rd floor of the parking garage, or by walking across the street and entering the OKCCC on the street level.
  • Surface Parking Lot: Located at Robinson and 6th, south of the convention center. Parking is $10 per vehicle. After parking, you may access the OKCCC from the entrance doors on the west side of the building, off Robinson.

Once inside the OKCCC, make your way to the fourth floor for training check-in.
